Investor's Business Daily boiled the secrets of 'success' (here meaning temporal mastery) into 10 parts. I've further reduced them to three. Have fun figuring life out. Just remember, success doesn't equal happiness.

1. Act decisively to get what you want.
Figure out exactly what you want, look for opportunities to get it, then pounce.

2.Be yourself.
Just follow your own dreams, the calling of your heart. You can't do well at something you don't love.

Psychological tests can help in this regard. Astrology and numerology can be helpful too, -provided- you remember that they are systems of interpretation, not scientific fact, or inevitable predestiny.

3.Accumulate power.
By power, I mean skill, knowledge, connections and momentum. Learn. Be persistent. Cultivate friendships. Don't give up.

Knowledge basically boils down to how well you can educate yourself, in the practical sense of knowing about your chosen goal and how to get there. I've dug up some search engines and information gathering resources for you.

A couple of very thorough Enneagram sites. The Enneagram is basically numerology crossed with a personality test. Everybody's given a -tendency- towards one or three numbers, each of which represents a different personality type. Me? I tended towards 9, 4 and 6, 5, and to a lesser degree 3 and 1 last time I tested....It was a weighted test.

Keirsey Temperament and Character Web Site

The classic four-axis psychological test. Respondents are graded on intro/extro-version, inituition/reason, (something?)/feeling, and judgement/perception.

The Healer Style

My style, most of the time, INFP. Other times, I test as Counselor(INFJ) or Inspector (ISFJ?), I think.

 

Astrology and Numerology

Chinese Astrology, introduced for the first time since 619 AD, offers free predictions on-line.
Purple King method of Chinese Astrology, I believe. Very specific, compared to "Chinese New Year" methods of the 12 Buddhist animals, which are really just to entertain the clueless.

A totally free site that enables you to do most of the numerology stuff you'd want, provided you have a paper and pencil handy.

Direct Hit gives you the most popular hits -- even if they're REALLY obscure -- from HotBot. Very useful for those obscure subjects.

Mamma and Dogpile provide a -very- broad collection of sources on a given subject. AND they tend to be fairly accurate.

Welcome to Ask Jeeves

Ask Jeeves idiot-proofs (in theory) your questions using natural-language parsing and a large database of answered questions. Sometimes it misses completely, but other times it comes up with answers to really abstract questions, like "How do I know that I'm in love?" (I have an entire page devoted to this, this -thing- called love.)
